To quickly locate particular contacts within the KeyContacts handheld application, use the "Smart Look Up" feature. This feature allows you to specify on which fields within each contact your search will be based.
To specify the search fields used for "Smart Look Up", please do the following:
1. On the handheld, open the KeyContacts application.
2. From the KeyContacts List View screen, tap on the top left corner of the Palm screen to open the menu bar.
3. From the menu bar, tap on "Options" and tap on "Preferences".
4. From the "Preferences" screen, under the heading "Search in these fields:", tap on the any of the fields (First Name, Last Name, Company, File As) you wish KeyContacts to search and tap "OK". Note: The more choices you select the greater your search results will be expanded.
To search for the desired contacts, enter one or more letters into the Smart Look Up field (located on the bottom of the KeyContacts List View screen) and all the contacts containing the entered character(s) will be displayed in the contacts list. If the character you type is not found in the search fields you chose, the handheld will beep and the letter you entered will disappear. In the example below, the letter "J" was entered and the search results are displayed.
