Re: DVD/CD ROM does not open
There should be a small hole on the front panel of the DVD-ROM. Take a paper clip and insert it into the hole and push to open the tray. If the DVD-ROM tray continues to malfunction, you'll need to replace it. DVD-ROMS run anywhere from $25.00 to $75.00.

1. Open the Computer window on your PC: Either double-click the Computer icon on the desktop, or open the Start menu and choose Computer.
2. Click the DVD drive icon: Clicking the icon selects that drive.
3. Right click on it and choose 'Eject' from the drop-down list.
Try the following only if the above steps didn't work or in times of urgency, such as when the computer is locked up (or turned off), you can manually eject a disc/cd by pushing a straightened paper clip into the tiny hole (the "beauty mark") on the front of the DVD drive.
I assume you want to eject a Disk? Usually there is a button on the DVD?CD Rom drive door. You can open the the Rom drive by opening the Computer folder in Start Menu, right click on the device Icon, choose EJECT and click.
If you open Computer in the Start Menu, right click on the DVD/CD Rom, select Eject , it still will not open? Look for a "pin-hole" on the DVD/CD drawer, near the button, insert a pager clip. If the CD has exploded, which happened to me, you will have to remove the DVD/CD Rom and dissemble it.
Push it harder. Then try to take your finger nail and underneath the laptop pull on it as you push the button. Restart your computer. Go to your computer and right click the icon on the cd/dvd drive and select eject. I have a Dell and sometimes the button has to be pushed in hard. I hope some of these suggestions help you out and thanks for using FixYa.
you can try opening it with paperclip if it's stuck. Straighten the clip and locate a small pinhole on the drive it and insert the clip in. You might need to push the paperclip in an out a few times to eject the drawer.
go to computer and try to right click on CD/DVD Rom and then select Eject there..
if this doesnt helps u then u would have to manually release the CD/DVD rom..
just below the tray there is a Small Hole ..
use a Needle or any other device that may go in that hole..
try to press on eject button there.. and try to press using needle.. try doing so 3 - 4 times.. there is a latch that needs to be released to open the Tray..
this normally happens if the eject functionality of the tray is not functioning properly..
if ur computer is under warranty .. get the CD/DVD rom replaced..
let me know if this resolved ur issue
Look at the drive there should be a tiny pin hole near the eject button, insert a needle (saftey pin, sewing, etc.) into the pin hole and push this opens the drive.
You can also try opening my computer and right clicking the dvd drive and select eject.
