Choose your Operating sytem and download. NOTE: Using Depleted battery for long period time may freeze power management console, so in order to use a new battery you should calibrate the battery. or try Charge it for 8 hours staright.
that rubbery nipple when its pressed in is what allows the screen to go into sleep mode. Sounds like it might be stuck halfway in between. Go ahead and try to take out the top cover with the rubbery nipple on it. See if the screen lights up like normal, if it does then you know the rubbery nipple is the problem and just needs to be readjusted so it doesn't get stuck.
If it still stays dim then its either the lcd or the inverter that is bad.
remove the battery and try to start it using AC power, if the button is stuck or jammed try to free it using a small flat headed screwdriver, take care to be gentle not to damage the button, if the machine is still under warranty, sent it for repair
If it is the plastic button that is down and won't return, you might try using some silicone lubricant available from hardware or auto parts stores.
Silicone is a dielectric so it won't bother the electronics and might free the button.
I wouldn't recommend spraying the pressurized lube into the button recess but rather into the spray can's cap and then using a denuded Q-tip to dab a few drops around the periphery of the button.
The carrier of the lubricant may attack plastic but is very volatile so you can let that part evaporate leaving only the silicone.
It may be the problem with driver. Your OS may not contain the proper driver.Like in windows service pack 1 do not recognise some camcorders. either upgarde to service pack 2 or download proper driver from manufacturers site
