Then it is failing to read the hard drive. Get into BIOS (usually by hitting F2) before it gives you that message, and once in BIOS, verify that the hard drive is being recognized.

Go to the bios change the boot sequence to hard disk first , if the message appears again, the you have to reinstall the operating system, changing the bios sequence to boot from cd first

SOURCE: my acer netbook wont boot

It should have a USB socket. You will need to first of all try pressing F8 as the laptop is booting and enter the menu that allows you to recover your partition/ If it is corrupt or not available/damaged you will need to, on another PC with the same OS, make a USBdrive/flash drive bootable with your OS on it and boot from there, attempting to recover your old files.
Hope that helps but you may need a service centre/PC repairer to help you.

SOURCE: Gateway GX7022E - When I try to boot it up it gives me a bunch of messages but the last one says insert boot disc. I don't have this disc. What should I do?

Most likely a boot file is corrupted. Youll need to reload from a restore point if you saved any. If not then I suggest to restore from your recovery partition.

Check to see if you have inserted any DVD/CDs in the CD/DVD drive or any USB/External storage medium connected to the PC when it is booting. If yes, then try removing them and reboot

If no, then try using the Boot File Repair option on Win7/Win Vista installation DVD.

My laptop will not boot up, instead it goes directly into a screen I haven't seen before and says, "Operating System not found"

usually this means that the previously installed windows/linux operating system is corrupted....best to re-install operating system via disc windows/linux....so that it replaces corrupted informatiom/instructions on hard drive....if you have files you want to keep then dont do a format on install as you will definately lose them......

System Repair? Help?

Insert the disc in the tray. Restart the computer. The computer will not boot in the normal mode but will boot with the repair disc. Now follows he instructions to complete the repair or complete pc restore. It is easy to understand.
If you restart the computer after inserting the disc 1 in the tray and the computer does not boot with the disc. then restart again and keep tapping F9 key and it will ask you to boot from cd/dvd rom so select it and press enter and it will boot with the cd. It might ask you to press any key to boot from cd. You may press any key on the keyboard at the very moment you see the message.

Pc keeps trying to start up but states it needs to reboot and won't. I have tried to insert the operation disc and it does not work either

it probably says insert suitable boot device. If you are trying to boot from a cd go into the bios and set the boot device priority to CD as priority. If hard drive then set hard disk to the top.

Laptop froze so restarted it.

Hi,
thankyou for your request.
it,s not necessarily the CD Disk, that it,s refering to. it may be the hard-disk.
if your having to leave the windows cd in the drive, then your hard-drive ( Disk ) may be lacking a few files on it, and reading from the cd for the missing files.
what you need to do, is format the hard-drive, then go through the re-installation of windows. when you,ve done that. ensure that all of your decive drivers are installed correctly.
if you go to My Computer/control Panel/ system/Device manager Any devices not correctly installed, usually have a yellow exclamation mark by them.

if this solves your problems, please rate as fixya.

if your still having problems, please post a reply here.

many thanks Mike @ compurepair.
