Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My hp 4520s probook's mouse pad got locked accidentally, and it's not unlocking by double tapping on the light button on the mouse pad. please help me with this asap.

First, try double tapping the light again. You may have just mis-tapped.

Next try restarting the laptop. Certain laptops re-enable the track pad on restart so long as a USB mouse isn't connected.

If that fails, navigate to the Mouse Settings on your PC and re-enable it there. If you have a USB mouse you can use that. If not, you can use the keyboard. Windows Key will launch the Start Menu, arrow keys can highlight options, Enter will click on them, Control+Tab and Control+Shift+Tab will switch tabs (in a window that has tabs).

In Windows XP and 7 (and probably Vista), Mouse Settings is located at Control Panel > Mouse > Settings.

I have an acer aspire using xp. cursor is frozen in the center of screen. Pad doesnt work. Reset but didn't change anything. Did fn-f7 didn't change anything. I can only get around using my tab key...

Plug in a USB mouse to give you some mouse functionality. Then go HERE (http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers) and search for your specific laptop model and try to see if they have a touchpad driver for your model.

Also you can go to the device manager in Windows (Right Click my computer and choose Manage)
find the touchpad driver in the list, right click and uninstall. Then reboot your computer and have Windows reinstall using plug and play (it will do this automatically)

Good Luck.

My blind cat decided to stand on my laptop last night, when I removed her the mouse pad did not work, the cursor just sits up in the corner! Is there something she could have turned off? many thanks in...

You can try and locate the Fn key and the key that turns on your mouse pad, once finding that combination hold Fn and toggle the enable key " usually one of the numbers or the F# keys. If that does not work you might need to reinstall the device drivers, I am unsure your Windows operating system but you may want to grab an external mouse for this. Go to Devices manager, If you do not know how here is a universal pathway, " Control Panel - Administrative Tool - Computer Management - Device Manager " Once there find your device and uninstall the drivers " you can also try enable and disable first ", Once uninstalled restart your computer and Windows will discover the pointing device and reinstall it shortly after start up, you may need to go to though the add new hardware wizard when installing but this is the best solution I can think of.

Touch pad mouse will not move

There will be a button above the touch pad or using function key to disable it. try both and find out which is the prob. Some drivers may not installed properly. Run the touchpad driver in administrator mode and if you are having the xp driver set to xp sp3 compatible mode.

The "mouse" pad on my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop has suddenly stopped working. What can I do to mend it

You can try pressing the Fn + F7 key to activate it, if that does not help you can check in the BIOS if the touchpad is disabled.
