It could possibly be the HV splitter or even possibly One of the CRTs shorted. I would recomend getting the service manual and troubleshooting the standby and start up circuits.

Mitsubishi WS-65807 convergence - keeps blowing F9A04 pico fuse?

You\'ve already gone a hundred times as far as anyone else within a hundred miles of you, Dave. 8)

It might be the case that something else was borderline & couldn\'t tolerate the convergence being corrected. If that sucker\'s VERY old, I don\'t think I\'d chase it very much farther, myself... you may never get any rest.

Or... it could possibly also be the case that you overheated a lead on one of the ICs. They can\'t tolerate very MUCH heat - barely enough to get it hot and get it done. Especially if you soldered the leads sequentially instead of alternating like Pin 1, Pin 14, Pin 2, Pin 13, etc.

If the ICs were\'t very expensive, you might try it one more time - ICs and picofuse. Take every precaution not to overheat the IC leads. If it doesn\'t work THIS time, donate it to a good cause unless you simply like challenges.

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

TV will not turn on 2-1 and 2-2 error. ws65807

Mitsi has this information posted in regards to the 2 errors you have indicated. "2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)" Also these 3 tech notes were found. "1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB.

2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB."
I hope this points you in the right direction.

WS-65809 ERROR CODE 22

look on the center circuit board and you will see two green Pico fuses they look like resistors but they dont have any bands on them . They will have F9A04 and F9A05 on the board next to them. Check with a ohms meter if those fuses are open you will ned new convergence ICs. Thats the first thing to check are those two pico fuses when you get a 22 error on your model.
