Probably as simple as a bad battery connection. Don't just look at them, disconnect, clean and retighten them. It is also possible that the battery opened up. Put a voltmeter across the terminals and read the voltage. If it is less than 10 volts the battery is junk. If it is more than 10 volts, turn on the ignition and if the voltage drops way off the battery is junk.

All of a sudden the line lights on our nortel switch Meridian M7310 phones started blinking and the lines are dead. Any ideas?

If you only have one line, why not just lose the Nortel system? You can reuse the wiring from the phone sets to the contoller as regular inside wire, and just plug in regular phones(and maybe put the Nortel phones and controller on EBay and make a few bucks off it!)

Check your charging system. Check for electrical drains if the lights don't even come on.

Bought this phone yesterday one has charged and is working the other one is dead what am I doing wrong ? madasahatter

Dear hattermadder
You are probably not doing anything wrong. My guess is that the batterieswere not good enough. The batteri sign can show a "full" batteri and after a 5minutes conversation on the phone a peeping noise
starts and suddenly there is no one at the other end.
Try changing batteries and make sur they are the correct ones.

Motorcycle wont start

Check the battery connections, especially if you hear a click just before it goes dead. I know that on my bike, when this happens, the screws that hold the battery cables in place have backed out and not getting a good contact. You would think that with a bad contact that it would stay dead when you turn the key off then back on, but oddly, everything comes back on normally until I hit the starter button. Check the cables.
