this could happen when there is a missmatch in the operating frequency (refresh rate) between both VGA card and screen, try to reset your screen settings to default, and set the refresh rate on your vga card settings to 60 HZ
My Dell monitor screen goes black after I move my mouse around to get on my computer. The screen goes black and I have to hit the button on the screen (that lights up the screen) about 18 times until it finally stays lite. I don't get it, if there is a problem with the light why does it stay on after hitting the light button several times?
You have a power supply that is about to die on you. If you can solder then you can do the repair yourself. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com On the monitor repair page we have a step by step guide to the repair on this unit. It involves changing 5 capacitors on the power supply, about 20 minutes total to take apart and repair. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 parts/labor plus return shipping. Let me know if you have any additional questions at the email address below.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Yes, The pink tint is an indication that the backlight is failing. Now the backlight is basically dead, the best way to get back going is to do an Ebay search for your model laptop and get a new screen. Most screens can be purchased for around $50.00 - $70.00 and they are very easy to swap. Email me if you need more info.
First check the monitor sleep mode for your monitor in windows control panel, check that its not going into hibernation/stanby. if thats not it. and the monitor keeps shutting down. You may have to replace it newer models have more features and could be cheaper by saving you the hassel check newegg.com or orverstock.com
I start my computer and turn it on, and everything looks fine for about 1/4 of a second and then it goes black while leaving the power light green. I can only see the screen again after turning it off and on, but that's only for another 1/4 second. What's up? I got my rosewill flatscreen as a hand me down from my father. I've had it for several years now. Was working fine until a month ago. When I turn the computer on the screen goes black after 1/4 of a saecond. I have to turn it off and on anywhere from 10 to 20 times before it stays on. I have checked all plugs to the computer and outlets. I have absolutely no idea whats causing this.
