My t30 had problems with the windows xp Prof. that WAS installed, it start to restart alone and I was not available to conect to any web site, (fail t use the IE browser) so I tried to install a Windows xp home edition that I have (original version) from a CD.
Problem.: it seems it has not read or copied all the files to the hard disk.
2.- when it starts to install the windows, it come to a point that stops, and start from the same point it stoped (like a loop) .Then I try to boot from the cd , but always return to the install point it stops before.
I have acces to the bios, with the F12 key
How can I erase the disk, to install again the original windows .
Or is there any other problem?
Perhaps change de HDD , or the memory ?? OR THE LAPTOP :)
Thanks for the help.

Re: T30 boots but stop , in windows inst.
It seems like your installation CD has some scratches or dirty on surface. Please clean your CD and try it again. If you have product key sticker at bottom of your laptop then you can borrow any window XP proff CD and install from that CD. You just need to enter your product key.
Hope it helps !! Good Luck !!

The hard disk may needs reseating so it makes proper electrical connection or the hard disk decided to fail at this time. If the laptop does not boot up after reseating the hard drive, try going into the BIOS and check if the BIOS detects the hard disk, if the BIOS connot detect the hard disk then most likely the hard disk has failed.
first i want you to open internet page then tools at top
then advanced click to restore
then security click to restore default or apply.
restart system then without going on any programs do a virus scan
please let me know what happens
download "hirens boot cd" and burn to a cd, select the machine to boot from cd, when boot cd loads, select boot cd, it will take you into a dos menu, select hard drive tools, there are a number of utilities there for you perform surface scans a bad sector checks and repair tools
I bet your hard drive crashed on you. You might have to buy yourself a new hard drive and replace your old one with it. Then format it and install a fresh copy of your Operating System on it. Your error condes here indicate to me that you either got a blue screen or similar. Blue Screens and/or the code that you stated here are usually caused by a software issue, and are rarely hardware issues. But in this case, you may have gotten something bad on your computer, such as a virus or serious spyware, that wiped out your Operating System And caused your hard drive to crash/become corrupt. As I mentioned, try replacing your hard drive. Hope this helps.
YES.... providing that the hard drive was not completely re-formated before the windows OS was installed.
Usually, manufacturers leave a section of the HD for this so in the event that something goes wrong, you would be abke to revert back to the manufacturer's setup.
Simply follow the following instructions... :
1) remove power from the T30. 2) hold or tap the 'G' key on the keyboard 3) apply power back on T30 while maintaining step 2) 4) turn on T30 via power button while maintaining step 2) 5) T30 should eventually boot up and in factory default settings.
this doesn't work, repeat process or the T30 was configured to disable
the 'G' key. In this case you need to reflash the firmware on the T30.
