Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5 Digital Camera

Lumix DMC - LZ5 Lenze do not open

My camera's lense will nit open, I suspect that it got some dust into the mechanism. I am in Pretoria South Africa. Where do I take my camera for repairs?

Did you drop the camera and all this started to happen? I have repaired several of this type of camer before, and the fix is simple enough. If you take it apart and get to the lens barrell you can twist it and listen for a light snap and set the barrell back on the track. If not take the motor houseing apart and set the gears back onto the track. It is easy enough but it takes time. You will need small philips and straight screw drives. Let me kknow how it goes

Lz5 card does not work

Make sure you're using an SD card, 2GB and smaller. The DMC-LZ5 will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Although it's not the newest device out there, an SD card of 4gb would be more then suitable for it, check the manual for more info about the limitations which your device has:

I take it you mean to a computer - Buy a card reader with a USB connection or use the cord that came with the camera. You should have software that came with the camera that you first place on the computer. If not try the free program Irfanview.

Dust inside lense

Open the Lens Assembly and clean it but do it, in case you know how to do it.

make sure u arent using any uber cheap batteries, cuze i used a pair of panasonic heavy duty and they died after 4 shots D=

Camara doesn't take pictures

I talked to a Panasonic Rep. today about the same problem. She said to send camera in for a over-the-counter exchange. they do not fix this (DMC-LZ5) model camera. do you want mine for parts?
