I changed the yellow toner on my Konica Minolta 5430DL and it started printing very stripy colours, greens instead of blue etc. When I checked the status monitor it showed "undefined PJL status code: 111112" and suggested I re-install the driver. I have had a few error codes in the past callin for this action which turning the printer on and off has fixed but this time it has not cured the problem. The status monitor is now showing the printer as unavailable. Should I re-install the printer?

Specifically on the Magicolor 5430DL you can print when a cartridge is empty, but this is disabled by default. To enable printing even with a toner cartridge empty.Press the Menu Button, then press the right button until the ENGINE menu appears and press the select button.Next press the right button until TONER appears and press SelectOnce in the Toner Menu the first option should be "EMPTY" if not press the right button until you see "EMPTY" and press Select. There are two options, the default is "STOP" pressing the right button once should change from STOP to CONTINUE.While the display reads "CONTINUE" press Select. You should see the message "CONTINUE is selected"You can now print even when one or more cartridges are empty. However, the lack of the cartridge's color will be noticed in any print jobs calling for that color... (Obviously)
This needs to be setup through the computer using the printer properties, not through the printer. You will need to be the local admin to make the changes. You may also have to go under advance and manual specify the tray and component types. The printer will not allow you to set options for trays and components that are not enabled or detected. Let me know if you need a step-by-step.
The machine keeps track of what paper was reqested last, and asks you to change paper if the new job is different. I get the "put media" message and have to open and close the drawer if my next print job requests a different paper. So I suggest you gently open and slam the drawer a couple of times, or see if you can find the sensor switch that monitors whether the drawer is open. Also check if your paper guides in the drawer are clicked in place.
Hi this might work, have you tried to remove the toner and re-seat it?? If this doesnt work very carefully take the toner somewhere well ventelated preferablly outside and give it a good shake for about 15-20 seconds, this frees any clogged toner there may be.
Failing all of that you would want to try outting a new toner in and see what happens.
The Cyan toner cartridge is jammed, it needs to be taken out and try and move the white plastic gear round a bit to free it. It normally is very stiff and wont move much, but if you can move it a fraction that will do. One thing, did you overfill the cartridge with toner? sometimes that will cause them to seize up. Delboy
