How to record videos with sound

Sound and Video are opposites, therefore it is impossible to record a video using sound. (I may have got the question wrong, but here's the other answer)

Your Microphone could be broken or muted. flick through all of the options in settings to find any options to mute the mic when recording videos. If there is no option for that, either try turning up the volume to full or consider either getting the microphone replaced or consider getting a new camera.

Hi, Does the program give you any option to see where the video is stored on your hard drive or any option to export? As the video's are now on your computer but it's a question of where, as well are you using a mac or windows?

When I play back video, the sound and the video are out of sinc. What's wrong? Also, the video seems to be in slower motion than it should be.

Settings of Audio and Video speed are mismatched

Just go on to the settings options in the camera and restore/reset it to factory defaults

Cheers!!

Camera

Hi Val,

The mode select has three options. Camera, Video and PC Cam. It needs to be set to PC Cam to give you live video.

Best regards,

Alexanderia,

Your camera records video in "Quicktime" format. The reason you aren't getting video, is because the program you are using to watch the video cannot recognize the video.

Simply download quicktime. You can get the free version here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Choose the top option for the quicktime player, or the bottom option if you would like "itunes" with it. It's up to you.

After installing quicktime, you may need to "right click" your video and choose "open with". You can then choose "quicktime"

You should be able to see and hear your video!

I dont know how to hook up my camara to my computer, to get videos on there? have a sony camara, model DCR-HCR8

If your camera has the video and audio output option, and you get the optional cable set to get the video and audio to feed your computer. You will need a video and audio capture card installed in to the comuter.

Depending on the setup, you may need to search for the necessary software to feed the camera video and audio out with the computer. In many instances, this would work using the software that comes with the capture card.
