Question about JVC Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Hello, I've been having a problem with my JVC RX-D302B 7.1 Receiver. Whenever I try to power it on, the blue power light comes on for a moment, then it clicks off. I'm planning to take it to a repair shop, but I was wondering if someone here had an idea on what was causing this problem--or if it was something I could fix (I have a soldering iron from my ITT days)? Thanks!

Ahh. Thanks for the timely response! I'll just send it to a shop then.

Unit is going into protection mode because the amplifier output stage is shorted. Measure output voltage of the speaker lines coming out of each output channel...front/center/rear...take measurement before the channel speaker line protection relay. If any voltage is present then that is the output channel that is at fault. Replacement parts are available to the consumer through tritronicsinc.com. If you have experience with a volt meter\checking transistors\soldering it is something you can do. If not it should be left to a service shop. Have a great day!!

Have jvc rx-2020v receiver with mono rca out for sub and trying to hook it up with polk audio rm 1000 w sub woofer with +/- terminals for both left ane right channels plus blue terminal(?). How to?

Your Polk Audio subwoofer is a passive sub and your JVC mono output is for connection to a powered sub. If the JVC does not have an amplified output for a passive sub, you'll either need to get an amplified sub, a different receiver, or buy a dedicated mono subwoofer amplifier.

If your JVC TV has AUDIO OUT outputs on the rear and a provision in the initial set up screen to disable the internal speakers, you can connect to your Yamaha receiver and enjoy improved sound.

JVC RX-801V - No sound from right channel in speakers or headphones.

I'd troubleshoot first, even though you've already tried the headphones (good thinking). Get a battery (AA battery works) and put the black and red wires on opposite sides to see if the speakers are working.
Is there a menu of settings on the jvc, and is it set to 5.1? Just trying to help...
