I have a Presario 1700T

A little more detail on my disassemble problem. I opened 10 screws (4 at the top, 3 middle & 3 bottom), the keyboard/palmrest still will not separate from the lower case. I don't see the "long" screw. More suggestions? Thanks, Wayne

yes, to do that turn over your Laptop and let it relax on a well balance area then remove your battery slide out your hard drive and then use your appropriate Screwdriver and open the screws at the back then look to your long screw that comes out its meant for the Keyboard then turn over after loosing the screws then raise your keyboard a little about 45 degree then push it out at the back u will find a cord at the back so transparent be gentle when removing those part and target those place in case of puting them back then your palmrest pull-tab that is attached to the palm rest flex cable connector to remove it from the interface connector on the system board
Notice: Carefully separate the palm rest from the buttom case to avoid damage to the palm rest.then after making it open u see the microprocessor thermal cooling assembly then loosen the four captive screws that secure the processor then u have the thermal heat sink is with the processor remove it and make sure u add the cooling paste to ensure well cooling and replace as required u for open.
