Sanyo VHR-M291 I have a Sanyo video recorder, which has been extremely reliable, it is a Sanyo Digital Picture Control Long olay PDC VHR-M291, part no 3850R-M188B. It has recently started to eat the tapes that were put into it, do you know what is causing this?

This unit needs new rubber parts. I don't know the particulars of your model, but it has drive belts and/or an idler assembly that needs to be replaced.

How do i hookup a sanyo vhr h607 to my television

Unless the VCR has a digital tuner the only way to record off the TV will be to connect it by a scart socket and cable. However to record you would have to watch the TV show you are recording. An alternative is to get a set top box, which are fairly cheap and connect that to the VCR. Some VCR's have two scart sockets one for the TV and a spare one. You can connect the box via the spare one. When setting the recording you will have to select AV2. If the VCR has only one scart socket you might need a scart switching box.

Just bought old vhr sanyo model 495 video plus. what chanel do set it to record on

If it is connected to a digital box you should set it to whatever socket the box is connected to. So if the box is connected to the scart socket 1 then set it as "AV1" etc. Make certain that the PDC control (if it has one) is set to off before recording.

We want to connect our Sanyo VHR-795E to a recently purchased LG freeview TV to record programs. Our best efforts so far have resulted in recorded picture but no sound in playback mode. We have tried...

Some TV's have different settings for outputs at scart sockets. Read the manual on the TV to see if it mentions what the scart(s) sockets output.
However I think you might find it better to connect your VCR to a seperate Freeview box, that way you can watch a different channel to the one you are recording. Box's are cheap at the moment you can get one for around £10 on E-Buyer.Com.

VCR Recorder VC-H982 Can't time record. can't select a channel other then 3, 40 av under timer. What is pdc?. where dose it appear. what is sap in set up window? what is air in the channel...

You will probably find a free manual at the Sharp website. That should answer most of your problems. However can tell you that PDC stands for Programme Delivery Control. With it on, say you want to record a program that starts at 9pm and finishes at 10pm. Then all you need is set the control to on, when you set the timer recording, and the video will record your show, even if it starts at say 9.10 and runs while 10.10. The VCR will wait till 9.10 to start and stop at 10.10. Good if a sporting event or live event overruns!
However PDC doesn't work on digital and will not work sometimes at all or if you set the timer wrong. It uses the old teletext signal, which is why if you are in an area that has gone over to digital it should be set to off! As it will never get a PDC signal!!!!

Hello! I have a Sanyo VHR 120E video recorder. The trouble is that the tape remains and it does not add up! How can you make out of it?

Tape remain counters are never accurate. For one thing VCR tapes are made by different makers and some like to give you extra. Some counters allow around 5 minutes extra at the end of the tape. Treat all times as approx, then you can't go wrong.

Getting a dvd player to record vhs to dvd

The RF converter takes the Red/White/Yellow as INPUTS and converts them to either channel 3 or 4. You need to go the other way. You need a tuner or another VCR to convert from RF (channel 3 or 4) to a standard AV signal (Red/White/Yel).
