that gives you some info about your pc, your current graphics card wont work in your pc, it would aslo depend on how much your looking to spend on a graphics card for your machine. yours takes 16x pci express.

Can not install video driver dell optiplex gx260 windows xp sp2

moz-screenshot.pngThis has a nice board and your video board is possibly AGP type.
Find the manufacturer of the VGA board and download the appropriate driver if available for XP.
I hope this helps.

Dell gx280 wont run I installed new video card in pci e slot

I had exactly the same problem on my friends Dell GX280. It will only let you use the onboard card or the new radeon card not both together. In the end we had to buy a Radeon card that was made specifically for two monitors and disable the onboard card on BIOS. It would not let us use the two seperate cards in unison.

Increase the amount of shared video dell gx280

Hello!

Don´t lose time for that, I think that you have integrated grafik in own chip, and they have same options with 1 or 64 MB, option in bios, that isn´t a standard shared grafik. Try AGP card if you have a socet for that.

Dell Optiplex GX280 Video Card Install Problem

You hit that one right on the dot.  ATI website showed the specs for that graphics card you installed as needing a 300 Watt power supply.  Good news though... I researched newegg.com and I believe I found your 300W power supply.  There are 4 different Optiplex gx280 designs with 4 completely different power supplies.  Since you bought the low-profile video card, I believe you have the slim computer case and this power supply should work for you...

Half length graphic cards for Optiplex Gx280!

Not sure what your question about this is, but the Optiplex Gx280 has a PCI Express x16 slot which I suppose would be about half the size of an AGP slot. If you're trying to replace the videocard you'll have to put in a PCI Express x16 compatible card.

Pci-e question

Hi

I am afraid Dell OptiPlex GX260 has no support for PCI-e.

You can however install a half-length AGP (66MHz) graphics card.
