unfortunately this is a common problem in some compaq laptops.
Ypu will need to replace your Kb or clear your cmos/bios memory to see if debuggin your memory still works fine.
Locate your cmos/bios battery disconnect for a while, turn on your laptop and verify that your cmos memory was reset, reconnect your battery and set your dates, this will resolve your kb issues.
