I have a 2002 Trailblazer the 4x4 switch on the dash don't light up any more which means the 4x4 don't work any help

sounds like the electric motor that engages the 4x4 is bad.

Depending on the make and model, it could be the control switch on the dash or the switch that moves the gears in the transfer case.

It is either the switch is going bad, the actuator is bad, or you are loosing power to the actuator. The way to find out is to remove the pan under the front end, and unplug the actuator. Use a volt/ohms meter to test the leads to it in order to make sure it has power & ground. A test light can be used in place of a meter if you don't have one. Make sure the harness is clean & making a good connection, then test to see if it powers up when the switch on the dash is pressed. If it does in fact power up, then replace the actuator. This is more than likely the problem, and you can get a new one from most any parts store for about $60+. The light on the dash will only light up if it engages the actuator. You can listen to it with the engine off, ignition switch on, and have a buddy push the switch on the dash. You should hear it make a sound as they push the button from one to the other. This is in fact the easy way to tell (usually) if its the switch, or the actuator.

Try to locate a blown fuse in your fuse block first. Could be a simple problem. Check the fuse first.

First check the 4WD fuse in fuse panel. If blown you will most likely need a TCCM (transfer case control module). They were known to cause issues especially for 2002 models.

Make sure the wires aren't bent. Took forever to figure out why my breaklights wouldn't work and low and behold.....
