Question about Whirlpool Heating & Cooling
We just moved into a older house built back in 97 the air conditioner unit is a whirlpool unit and up to this point we have had no problems with it. now all of a sudden we turn down the air and the outside unit wont work i can her it turning on but the big fan on top of it wont spin. and while the unit is on it gets hot but the fan wont spin i press the red reset button and nothing happens what should i do my wife and i dont have a whole lot of money.
Your condenser fan costs less an $100 if you install it yourself. First with the system on and calling for cooling take a screw driver and spin the fan blade. If the fan comes on then it has a bad bearing, if it doesn't it's electrical. With power off remove the access panel and inspect the wiring etc.. Possible run capacitor.
