Do not obstruct the exhaust of the laptop. If problem persist, try a laptop cooler.

I would suggest the ignition switch is defective, examine the connecter to the switch for signs of overheating of the plastic connector shell and wire connectors inside the shell, if it shiows signs of heat then replace the connector and the switch. If the connector is ok then replace the switch itself. You may need to find the connector in a salavage yard or check with the delaer.

HP laptop will not switch on. I recently had the screen changed on the laptop due to vertical lines showing on the screen, and managed to resolve that problem, but this led to the problem with the laptop...

my bet is overheating too.
you have to take a look to the cooler, dust can block the air flow. bad news is you will need to open the laptop to be able to clean it. also, the overheating problem may lead to motherboard problems..

I have a ACER 5735 . The laptop shuts down suddenly while its on and sometimes im not able to switch on the laptop and even if i switch on , then once again the power goes off immediately . What would be...

Hi,

The reason for the sudden shut down of your computer is because of overheating of the 'case', where the CPU is mounted. Overheating can be due to dust accumulation on the heat sink, which prevents dissipation of heat. The possible solution to combat overheating issue is to keep the laptop dust free by cleaning out debris at the vents frequently. Note that a laptop has a much smaller cooling area in comparison with desktops and hence laptops tend to accumulate dust a lot quicker than desktops. This is because all the dust/debris, in the case of laptops, accumulate in the cooling fins.

the motor may be overheating due to a clogged filter. there are temperature switches in them that are safety switches in them to keep them from catching fire.

My laptop takes a number of attmpts to switch on!!

Sounds like it may either be your motherboard or your RAM. I would suggest reinstalling the OS or resetting the machine back to the factory state. If it does not solve your problem then you have to consider the possibility that it is the hardware which is having issues. You may have to send it in to Packard if reinstalling the OS does not work.

Hi, i currently have 2 faulty laptops with the same problem, when you try to switch them on theres no power, but if i leave the laptop for a few days it will come back on no problem last a few hrs or so...

Do the fans kick in when the machines are working? First thought is overheating problem, could be due to fans not working correctly or dust, and if it is maybe need to re-apply thermal compound to cpu (arctic silver).
hope this helps get back to me if i can help further

KEEPS SWITCHING OFF AFTER ABOUT HALF HOUR OK WHEN YOU SWITCH BACK ON HAVE CHECKED TIMER THAT IS OFF

This may be an overheating problem.
Place a large floor fan so it will blow into the back of the tv.
If the tv stays on longer or stays on all the time after that.
If it is an over heating problem, then you may have transformer flyback that needs replacement.
