No.. it won't.. office versions are backward compatible meaning a newer version will work with files made on a previous office versions and not vicerversa.

if you don't want to pay for office 2007 you have 2 options

1. look for a bootleg copy... don't expect support from microsoft or updates.. and I don't feel right telling you where to look for them but they do exist in internet if you want to look around (although be noted I'm not suggesting this option as it is illegal)

2. try the opensource version of office called open office.. the bad thing about this option is that the files produced by Microsoft Office 2007, called Office Open XML, OpenXML, OOXML, Office 12, .docx, .docm, .xlsx are not yet supported by open office but you have some options to covert those files to file version that can be opened and worked with open office... and as per the link below support is coming up for those files in open office so for now it would be a good option if you're planning on spending 0 dollares on your office suite.

if you want to download open office this is the link.

Dear tiffy,

Ms office 97 will not suit your vista OS. so either you have to buy a new Ms office product or you can try installing Open office 2.01 software for free.

thanks,

MS Office is not a free program.
You will need to purchase a copy of MS Office.
For an alternative free program OPEN OFFICE is a full-featured officesuite that's compatible with Microsoft Office.
If you want Open Office you can download this free program.

Why not just get Office 2010? Office 2010 has the same great basic layout as 2007, just more features, and you can try it for free:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/

If you don't like the price of Office 2010, try Open Office: http://www.openoffice.org/
Open office will open and save documents as .doc (Microsoft documents) so they can be read by Microsoft Office products. Open Office really is a good product, and it is FREE.

Microsoft also has a free online Office (Skydrive):

Sorry, but if you are looking for a free download of Microsoft Office 2007, we are not allowed to provide that info on this site because it is illegal.

It sounds like your Anti-Virus or Spyware is blocking and won' t allow access, it thinks its harmful, try turning off the Virus software installed, do your thing and then turn the software back on. If thats not it then your Software is damaged and you will have to install a new copy of Office. Good Luck.

The computers we purchased had Vista already on them, we are having a few problems which include the fact that no one can open our templates that we use when they could so so before we got the new PC's. ...

check that you have the Daylight savings in the time settings checked, or try unchecking it and then setting the time.

Also check the time set in the bios on boot up, it may be set differently.

As for Vista, Good luck. Alot of people dont have it yet so they have trouble using files made on a fvista system. MS office has a compatability install i think, check MS website.

Vista is new and has alot of bugs that havent been fixed yet, also alot of WinXP programs and games arent compatible so they wont run on Vista.

Either they have to upgrad or you have to downgrade.
Both options arent fun, I never buy a new operating system untill mine becomes obsolete. Since you got new computyers you where forced to have it installed. You could always re-install a copy of XP on the system and then wait to put vista on till more people have it.

Microsoft does this on purpose so everyone is forced to by their products even if they dont want or need it.

XP runs fie now, so why upgrade?
because MS wants to stuff there pockets.

Good luck
