Try NOT using a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You may need to try a file recovery program to find and restore the files. Iolo's web site offers a free evaluation download of Search and Recover version 4 that can do a good ****of restoring deleted files.

SOURCE: digital camera not recognized by comp

What you need to do is go to "My Computer" right click and choose properties
In the new opened window:
choose hardware
and Device Settings (first possible option if you have XP serivice pack 2 and up)

You will see an 'unrecogonized' item with Disney cam (or anytying) in the list.

Right click the item and choose properties

Choose the second tab (Driver) and choose re-install driver.

In the reinstall driver window/tab choose that you will choose a location yourselve and point the location to your CD or DVD Drive.

Then choose reinstall

Worked great for me!

Reminder - I needed to translate all from Dutch (My operation system) to English so there could be some akward spelling items in here, sorry for that)

I installed a Kodak 8gb sdhc card in my Kodak Easy Share Z730 and it keeps telling me the card needs formatting formatted on my comp and thru my camera but still says the same thing

If the Camera is new or the SD Card is new then you don't have much problem,
use the installation CD that comes with the camera to install it driver on a computer, so can use the USB cord to explore the camera. on the computer, try to locate the SD Card and format it. then you can use the camera again.
If you have files on the digital camera then i am afraid you might have connected the camera earlier with a virus infected device. there is no choice but to fellow my step either to scan it with computer or better still format it with computer.
Hope to know the outcome!!

If your connecting the camera via the usb cable you will need the drivers for the camera to be recognised by the pc. Do you have the disk that came with it? If not, try here and download the easy share software.
