I got a message from mylife stating that there were security threats to my confidential information. Is this a legitimate site?

Here's some information about mylife from wikipedia:
"MyLife (or MyLife.com) is an American Internet company founded by Jeffrey Tinsley in 2002. It provides a subscription based, personal search service. It previously conducted business under the names Reunion.com, Wink.com and Classmates.com. The company has been criticized for its aggressive marketing and billing practices and has been the focus of consumer complaints and a lawsuit." --- I would suggest that telling you there are security threats because your information can be found online might be considered aggressive marketing - However, there are very few people who use computers and the internet nowadays who don't have their information online somewhere - and lots of search engines can find it - I think they are offering to search the net for your details so you know where they can be found - and I guess you will have to pay them for this service - You can't really have an online social life or business these days without giving at least some information out - and there is usually a point at which you need to give real details - I wouldn't worry too much unless you've given out real confidential info to websites that don't really need it, i.e. You have all your real details listed on social networking sites and opt to allow everone to see these (name, address, phone number, workplace, school, date of birth, town of birth, maiden name, pets' names, etc. (things you're likely to use for passwords!)

Lenovo battery not charging

It sounds as if the battery is defective. The fact that the battery worked in the phone at first indicates that your phone will except an aftermarket battery. I would contact the retailer whom if which you purchased the battery from to see what type of warranty they have.

keylogger is a type of computer virus that monitors and records the keystrokes on your computer, then relays that information back to a third party. It can reveal your personal information and be especially dangerous if you purchase products online, use online banking or do other similarly sensitive tasks. The key to stopping a keylogger is catching it before it has a chance to log any sensitive information on your computer. Use a well thought out strategy and some basic software tools.

Open your Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting the Task Manager option. Look through the list of computer processes on the Processes tab. If there are suspicious processes that you don't recognize, select them and click the End Process button. Your goal here is to do your best to stop the keylogger so that it can't collect any personal information from your computer. If you can't decipher which process it is in the task manager, you can start an on-screen keyboard so that you can type in commands for your computer without having your keystrokes recorded by the keylogger. Launch the on-screen keyboard on Windows XP by clicking on the Start button, going to "All Programs," then to "Accessories," "Accessibility" and then on the "On-Screen Keyboard" option. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, click the Start button and search for "Ease of Access Center." Open this program and choose the option to launch the on-screen keyboard. Use this keyboard to type in all commands throughout the rest of this process. Use an anti-virus program to thoroughly scan your computer. If you do not have an anti-virus program, use a free online virus scanner from a company like Trend Micro, which offers a free online virus scanner (you can also use an online scanner from another anti-virus company if you wish). When you scan your computer, be sure you perform a full system scan and that you remove any infections you find. Use an anti-malware program to scan your computer. Download a free anti-malware program such as Spybot - Search & Destroy or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. http://corbitek-antimalware.soft32.com/free-download Free reliable antimalware solution with realtime protection and automatic update http://spybot-search-destroy.soft32.com/ Freeware detect and remove a multitude of adware files and modules. http://malwarebytes-anti-malware.soft32.com/ Free and easy-to-use, simple, and effective anti-malware application. Install one of these programs and run a complete system scan on your machine, much like you did with the anti-virus scanner. Remove any infections you find. Restart your computer and scan it again with an anti-virus and anti-malware scanner. If infections that were previously found and removed are no longer present, you can safely assume you have stopped the keylogger that was on your computer.

Power cable at rear of sony vaio pcv desktop sparking and not starting up

Stop using it. Bring it to a repair shop ASAP. You need your PSU replaced and if you keep using it you'll need your motherboard replaced as well. In fact if you keep using it you could burn all of your internal components out.

Have you opened the computer up and checked the fans for dust. As you say, those are clasic overheating symptoms
Use a small brush and a vaccum cleaner, or a can of compressed air(air duster) to clean your pc's fans.

Acer aspire 1410 i need to do a system restore haveing alot of probs with my pc and the usb wont work

If it had no problems a week ago, and the USB worked, then you can use System Restore to roll back to a week ago.

Depending on how long you've had this problem, System Restore may not have kept backups from that long ago.

If your computer is really in a bad way, backup all your important files (double, then triple check that you have everything) then use the recovery/installation disc that came with your PC to wipe and reload the entire system.

This gives you a fresh start and gets rid of a lot of junk. Failing that, you need much more detailed help to fix existing problems to get your box up and going properly. =-]
