    A little more detail please.

When you press the power button, does anything happen? Do you get lights?

Does it start to boot and hang part way through, if so, at what point?

What were you doing on the computer just prior to this and was there any sort of error reported?

My wife got a Dell Vostro 1000 from her aunt, I dumped it and reloaded the OS which is vista, and now I cant update the drivers to be wireless again.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. Dell Dimemsion 9100 cannot connect to internet. Windows cannot repair the problem. Tried Windows and Dell drivers for network adapter with same results. Yellow caution sign on network icon.

Hi there

I can understand your issue.

When you same yellow caution i believe the network driver is not installed properly. To resolve this issue please go to device manager.

Locate for the network adapter and click on + sign to explore it.
Below that you can see your network device name, right click on and click uninstall.

Then reboot the computer and that will try to install the network driver ( It works in XP & VISTA). Cause XP & VISTA has the ability to load the default driver.

Then try to reinstall it and that should work.. If still the same issue kindly revert.......
