Today my 55" vizio screen popped and then turned red. I unpluged and restarted everything and now the audio is on, the chanels change, but the screen is completely read. some images are readable.

If this is a VO47LFHDTV20A TV set, the problem is most likely your LVDS(cable from the main board to the t-con)cable is faulty. When you turn the set on, do you have a red screen instead of the standard blue screen? Do you also have red tints on all images on all inputs? If this is the case, your LVDS cable is bad. If you are comfortable opening up your set, track down where the LVDS cable goes into the t-con board. Turn on the set, and wiggle the cable, if the red tinting goes away, you will need a LVDS cable, about $24 part.

There was a pop and then my tv picture went black there is sound but no picture

Most likely the pop sound was the loss of your lamp module, due to normal burnout, causing immediate loss of video without affecting audio.
You'll want to do an internet search to price a new lamp for your projection TV.

Here's a YouTube video how-to describing lamp replacement for a Sony Wega Projection TV:

I left the gas in the tank for almost a year, while i was undergoing chemotherapy, when i started it, it has aloud popping, no missing no loss of power, just the popping.

Sounds to me, like at least one of the cylinders is not fireing and the noise you are hearing is the cylinder attempting to come in, after a while does the popping stop?. Poss a new set of plugs will sort it out, it may even sort it self out with use

No picture when first powered on; aperiodically needs reboot

Can you switch to another input such as DVD to see if the loss of audio is occurring there as well? This would let you know if the problem is only happening with the Comcast receiver or if it happens with other inputs as well.

Pioneer SD-582HD5 - screen went black, no sound, Poor remote feed

The blue tube might be leaking coolant in the high voltage area, that is the cause of the POP. This repair might not be a DIY because of the lethal high voltage surrounding the CRTs tubes.
The slow response from the remote could be because the coolant has affected the main board where the IR signal are going to the remote sensor.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

You apparently have a high voltage arc. Possibly the anode lead to your picture tube. Also the flyback transformer could be arcing. If you're not experience with tv repair, you need to have a tech check it for you. The circuits operate at very high voltage and if you get into it you can get a possibly fatal electrical shock. Be careful !!! Stargazer
