Question about Nikon D40 Digital Camera with G-II 18-55mm Lens

Frustrated female with a stupid camera

I used my sisters nikon d50 and took over 350 photos of football games for the boys and girls club. People thought I was from a newspaper press. They were great. Clear, detailed, you could even see the face expressions through their helmets. So I go out and buy the nikon d40 because it's the newest one up from the d50 AND I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the life of me...I cannot figure the camera out. I have been on every web site, contacted Nikon by phone, (which was a joke). I don't think they even knew they made and sold camera's. The pictures are blurry, dark, etc. If there were a way for me to show you two pictures of the same field, same lighting, same every thing with the d40 and d50 you would understand me better. I think the camera is junk, broken...can you help?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I use my Nikon D50 for work and I am now required to have a date on all my pictures. Does the Nikon D50 have a facility to do this? If so how is it done?

All digital pictures include Exif Data which shows when the picture was taken and using what camera. Most photo edit programs like Picasa etc will show this data very readily. The times of printing a date onto the photo are gone, though there may be a setting to do it on your camera.

Nikon D50 Flashes Err and clicks

hi..
This screen shows areas of the photo that are overexposed slightly.
It flashes them to help you.
You get to this screen by pressing the up or down arrows when displaying the pictures you have taken.

To change it just press the up arrow when the camera is showing the screen until you get a display without flashing.

Once you have done this the display will be steady.
If you get any other screen in future you may have accidently pressed the arrow again.
Just cycle thru the displays to get back to steady.

thank u

Nikon d50 highlights problem

That's the overexposed highlights display, to warn you when highlight details may be lost. Disable it by pressing the up arrow twice. First press shows you the histogram, second press shows pic only, no other info. It will remember this setting for all photos display (until you change it).

Taking a black and white photo.

You can't, there is no black and white mode on the D50. You will need to take color photos and convert them with photo editing tool.
