I have a question about the cooling fluid in rear-projection TV's. After draining the fluid, does the bacteria remain in the fluid chambers? If so, what can I use to flush out the chamber to remove the bacteria?
If you have removed the fluid already then you have most likely removed the CRT(s)to drain them. I recommend removing the concave lenses and frames(be sure to mark everything) and use Isopropynol to clean the CRT faces, frames, lenses and all. Reassembled and refill chambers and make sure there are no air bubbles left inside the coolant chamber upon sealing them. Make sure you put your CRTs back in the right order.. greens in the middle. Done right.. it will last a good long time before recurrance.

DNA Denatured Alcohol Clean any residue from coolant chambers and from overflow recievers. However, it will happen again, the system is not air tight so the bacteria will come again
