Question about HP Pavilion F1503 15" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
I was given this monitor from a friend and I cannot seem to set up it to my computer. Once I have plugged everything in from monitor to tower and I turn on the monitor I get a message in a box in the middle of the screen that says " Warning PC Video Resolution Change Setting to Recommended Resolution 1024X768@60HZ. I cannot get rid of this message and then the monitor turns off by itself. Can you help me since I am clueless on what to do?
Basically the monitor wants your video card to feed it the display at a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. The 60Hz is the frequency and is standard for lcd monitors. Since the monitor is designed for 1024X768, it is shutting itself off in order to prevent damage.
To change your resolution (I'm assuming you have Windows), right click on a blank area on your desktop and select Properties from the list that pops up. The Display Properties windows will open, click on settings and change it to 1024X768. Next click on the Advanced button and then the Monitor tab and make sure the refresh rate is set to 60 Hertz
