Warning about Clark Color Labs

Be happy you got something back from Clark ! I sent them 14 rolls of film and a check to cover It all. One week later, I got one roll of prints back....not mine ! I did however get my order form back with the wrong prints. I sent them back to Clark and told them my problem. It's been over a month now, and they have admitted that they do not know where my prints-film are. They finally sent me a form to fill out so they can search for my film-prints. This they say can take up to 90 days. If they do not find my film-prints, they say they will return my money, and replace the film ! That's not good enough !!!!! They need to pay for what was on the film !!!!

I printed up a card with my name; address;etc on it. When using mail processing the first picture I took was of that card. then when processing they have all the info in case of a problem or if shipped to someond else there is a chance they may forward it to you. Helps to eliminate one problem Good luck.
P.S. I have found a local shop and use them all the time, better deals also.

You're right to be upset, but if it's any consolation, at least the pictures were not lost!

You can still have the conversion made.

I regularly have my film processed at my local supermarket, at KMart,or at local 1 hour labs.
Rarely have I been disappointed, and I shoot between 150 and 200 rolls of 35mm film per year.

If you figure postage & handling costs in the price, I'm not sure why mail order film developing
has the lure it does. I'm not knocking the quality, reliability, nor any other aspect of the mail order companies; they do millions of rolls of film per year, most w/o mishap. But, when I compared their cost of developing to that of my local supermarket, I honestly saw no advantage to me, especially when I can get my prints, etc. the NEXT day.

Modern print films have a wide latitude for exposure error, and are very forgiving in the developing process.

I use mostly manual Nikons, some w/ AE, and some autofocus automatic cameras. Only once have
I ever had a lost roll of film or poor quality developing, and at least I found out about it the same day and had the problem corrected IMMEDIATELY.

Give your local guys a chance! You can always send your film out, and probably the next time the mail order labs will do a good job for you.
This time was just bad luck.
