Need to replace the timer - Admiral Washing Machines

My washing machine started having problems with the spin cycles. Finally only one of the spin cycles would work. Then that spin cycle became finicky. I had to push on one corner of the collar around the knob to get it to spin. Then it became trickier and more difficult to get it to do it until it no longer will spin at all. I was told it is likely the starter. I opened the control panel and see lots of wires and I am not sure how to unhook the timer to replace it. I was wondering if there was some type of diagram of how to replace it or some visual with instructions that would help, without buying a manual. I have an Admiral Designer Series Model # LNC6759A71

Kleenmaid top loader replace timer

Kleenmaid timers do fail from time to time. Reconditioned timers are a viable remedy and not as expensive as new ones. Depending on where in oz you are, a tech will have to sight the faulty timer to ensure the correct replacement unit. You can't rely on model number alone........Nomess

Timer not working

Hello there:

The timer push/pull switch : The timer push/pull switch is the main switch in the timer. If this switch fails, the complete timer has to be replace.
To check the this timer switch, you will need to set your multimeter to read ohms. Set the timer on the biginning of a cycle and pull the knob to turn the switch to the on position.
Open the controls panel, take a reading between the Black wire on the cord connecting block and the violet wire on the water level switch connecting block. The reading should be about 0 ohms, If the reading is infinity, the timer is bad and you will need to replace the timer.
If any of the above mention parts is not working properly, the washer will not work at all.
If this is found to be bad the timer will cost about 60 to 80 dollars ok
Hope this informatin has been very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Gets stuck in cycle I have to turn the knob to get it to continue. The machine is the heavy duty large capacity I can't find a model #

Looks like you need a timer. If the model number is really gone there should be a part number n the timer. look everywhere around the door/lid and even on the back. Eric

Kenmore Series 80 Washer timer knob spins

Something in the timer came apart. Timer needs replaced. When in good working order, the timer should ONLY ever be turned clockwise..Reversing this could break it.

Ge timer on washer is broken

If it no longer clicks, the timer assembly will need to be replaced. If just the knob broke off, the timer should be good.
