Question about Nikon F65 35mm SLR Camera

2 Answers

Changing lens ok maybe this is a dumb question, but I can't find it in the manual. I just got a used nikon N65 can I change the lens while the camera is half way through the film without damaging the pictures taken? also, any suggestions for a good close up lens? Thanks

thank you cammedic and prototype, what a great crowd. I felt so dumb...I guess even the manual expected that one would know that as the answer wasn't listed. I'm going to take a photo class with my son, but I'm sure that I'll be listening in here too. Thanks again all.

Yes, That's the beauty of an SLR. When the mirror is down, the shutter is closed. No light will reach the film unless you would happen to fir the shutter and it would only give you a blank shot on your roll.

Nikon makes a good macro lens, the 60mm. Tamron and Tokina are also good.

Your Nikon is a SLR which stands for single lens reflex. The reflex part is the way the mirror that lets you look through the lens to frame the picture flips up to let the light go straight to the film. You can change the lens half way through the film roll because the mirror is down while you change the film and blocks light from getting to the film, just as it blocks the light until you push the shutter button. Have fun with your 'new' camera! I use an even older style Nikon FE2. I like my Nikon 55mm macro lens but your newer camera takes autofocus lenses so you'll need advice from someone else for that.
