Does the futura software from compucon allow you to wind the design forward so you can upload the design to the machine, and can continue embroidering the design to complete it. Reason why is had to turn the machine off mid embroidering a project.

Skipping stitches are caused by a bent or poor quality needle, and never by software.
Use only Schmetz needles if you want good results.
Use Classe, Singer, Unique, Tailorform etc if you want poor results.

Start by removing the hoop from the machine (leave the fabric in the hoop!) and turning it on so the embroidery resets. Attach the hoop again and put the foot down. Load up the design and send it to the machine. Skip blocks until you get to the block you were on when you stopped. Send this block to the machine, but do not press the green "go" button. Press the "forward" (needle down) button to advance the design until you are a few stitches BEFORE your stopping point. Now you can press the "go" button.

Go to futura-support.com Go to FAQ and go to #7. Follow the procedure EXACTLY, save one thing that is not on there. BEFORE you do anything, make double-sure your machine is set for embroidery (E) and not sewing (S). Even if you follow the procedure exactly, if your machine is on 'S' and not 'E', you will continue to get the 'transmission' message.

Make sure your software is updated (Main menu->Help->Live Update) You should get a message "No new updates".

Make sure software supports design format your are trying to open (List of supported formats you will find in the manual).

If your software has the latest version and you are getting this error trying to open a design from older Futura version (extension .fhe), send it to Singer to check it for corruption.

In embroidery mode, you have to send a design to the machine before the bobbin winder will work.

Futura software can read most of home embroidery formats. Because the software was developed by Compucon, you might want to prioritize XXX format. Other common formats such as PES or DST will also work great with your Futura machine.
