Can't turn on the TV. Green light keeps blinking.

You need to change the four capacitors C9B01,C9B02,C9B10,C9B11 all 1000 MFD 16 VOLT (on the DM board which is inside the metal shield standing upright on the left looking from the back of the set)The tops of the capacitors will look puffed out making them easy to find. This is your HD tuner digital board which is trying to reboot but can't - when the green light stops blinking after a minute, than you can power on your TV.

The power light on the front of the tv has been blinking for 20 HRS now...have reset tv, plugged and unplugged and still will not come on. It is on a surge protector. Has done this before but never for...

If you unplug that unit and plug it back in the LED will blink for around 70 to 90 seconds. That is how long it takes for the DM module to boot up. When the blinking continues past that time it is because the DM module is not booting up and responding to the main micro. The fix is to replace four capacitors in the DM module. It will take a reputable tv shop to know how to do this repair. I have done many and this is a common problem with this model.

do you have the service manual? also have you checked the diodes or protection fuses for the volts out of the loptr ( low output trans) , also check the volts on the trans for no volts , low volts , or voltage drop
let me know what tests and results you have , and if you dont have a schematic yet , this one should be about the same as yours , this is part 1 with 7 zip files http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/31768/Mitsubishi_WS-55859.html

The constant blinking green light means that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set.You need to remove the shield from the DM board (standing upright on the left where the DTV RF connector is)and inside you will see the four leaky capacitors (1000 MFD 16 VOLT)replace them, plug the TV in and wait 70 seconds for the blinking light to stop, then turn on the TV.The hard part will be removing the board from the TV(lots of screws and connectors, takes time)
