Problem for Rival 5070 7-Quart

While I was cooking a potroast the lid on my crock exploaded into a thousans little pices sending pices of glass all over the kitchen, it was not air tight so I can't see how it would do that, schaddered like it did ,I have never heard of one exploading like that.

its the metal ring around the cheep glass . the glass expands and BOOM SUPRISE your haveing something else for dinner ! go down to any goodwill or that type of store and buy yourself 10 o r20 year old crockpot made in the USA and made to last . you will have it forever ( e bay is another place to get them ) and leave the "MADE IN CHINA" junk in the stores ! who likes to eat glass anyway ? or lead ? or poision dog food ?

-   I have this same model & the same thing happened to my husband.
he lifted the lid to take a taste and it exploded into a million pieces
sending glass flying every where! I had no idea this could happen.
