I had the same problem with Microsoft wireless optical notebook mouse, no light indicated on the hardware but the USB plugin is lid up, however after fiddle for a while I found out the truth problem, is that hardware itself is the main circuit board and the back end where's the battery compartment and the wheel touching the board is bad, again, I'll be able to manipulated for a second and after soldered together is back to work and now it is DEATH once again, so this is nothing about the drivers has been loaded improper or missing drivers that also could be truth by user mishandled,after all this is a true hardware itself..so blamed it on the crews that put them together..not Microsoft no Offend?
