Old computer crashed on us and we lost the software for the printer, need to add printer to new computer.

My computer crashed and i got a new on and i need to hook up my epson printer but they tell you not until you use your installation disk and i lost it so waht do. i dont want to mess my computer up again

Here is the link to download the drivers for your printer:

Select the printer type you have and download the driver software and then install what you need.

I got a new desktop Dell (runs on Vista) to replace my old Dell laptop (runs on Windows XP). I inserted the software CD for my HP Office Jet K80 All in One printer and it literally exploded loudly inside...

Vista has identified your printer. It loads up its default printer driver (stored in vista OS) in your new computer. This usually have the basic features only. You need to run again the CD to install or enable the added features of your said printer. If you have lost the CD you can do an alternate option by downloading the software on this link. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/united-states/pse/hppse1.12.0.46enu.exe

For the the CD that was crumbled inside your cd-rom. You can try to pull out the CD from the Tower casing and try yo maually open the CD rom unit itself. Or may i suggest that you can buy a new one. (CD/DVD roms are cheaper now a days)

The causes of CD crashing inside your CD rom;

1. wrong placement of CD/DVD disc
2. Hardware failure of the CD/DVD roms

If its a very old printer you need to check if there is driver for that particular operating syste. model no.and operating system is must to search for the appropriate driver

Here is a link for driver and software. Just choose your operating system and it will show you what you need. If you're not sure, I would download the driver and the ez instructions first.
