I think that either there is a faulty connection on your power supply or the power supply itself is faulty and needs replacing. Good luck.

Open up the case and the big silver box where the power lead plugs in is called the power supply. I dont know how yours is attached to the case but usually held in by four or more screws. Make a note of what was plugged into where and take the old one out and to a computer store that deals in power supplies. They will be able to give you a matching unit. Just re-fit in the reverse order and it should be problem solved. Good luck.

My dell demention 5150 has like a yellow/amber led light flashe green then goes back. wont even load on my moniter

Your system has failed to POST. It sounds like it may be the PSU. If you decide to open the computer, check if any of the capacitors are leaking or vented. Badbaps.net may be able to help you with this.

Screen will not come on hard drive light no light checked power supply is ok

Things to check:
  1. Power led on the front of the tower, it should be solid green when on. Flashing Amber is generally an indication of a bad power supply inside the tower
  2. Power LED Solid AMBER indicates system is not finishing the power on self test (POST) and you remove all connections from the tower except power and try turning on again. If no change, remove all PCI and PCI-E cards from system, try again, no change replace motherboard.
  3. On the back of the tower are 4 diagnostic LEDs near the ps2 ports marked ABCD, after the POST, during a normal boot the will flash in several sequences and with boot is finished all 4 should be green. If they stop an a different pattern, then that indicates a failure Yellow Yellow Green Green indicate bad RAM for example
  4. If the LEDs on front and back are Green then the system appears to be booting but the monitor display is not functional

Don't starts yellow light flasing

If the power button on the tower is flashing Amber, the fault is the power supply. Replace the power supply and they system should work.
If the power supply doesn't resolve then the 2nd most likely failure is the Front IO panel (Circuit card behind the power button)

My computer is beeping at me during startup, and will not go past the load screen.... dell b110

The POWER LED on the front of the tower should be solid Green, If Solid Amber or Flashing Amber, there is either a power or MB problem. On the back of the tower are 4 LEDs the when posting normally are all Green. If YYGG for example, then you have a memory failure. Dell pc dimensio 5150 wont boot up

If the power light is blinking amber - The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.
Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (where power cord goes into unit).
Also try simply unplugging the unit from the wall outlet for a minute then plug it back in and boot it up.

The screen on my dell 2400 desktop flash but won't come on

Remove the video card from the computer and connect the monitor to the integrated vga port, check if that helps, or else look at the back of the tower or on the front you would find four diagnostic lights, post the status ot them

Powerbutton flashing yellow

If the main power button LED is flashing or solid yellow, this could indicate a hardware problem.

Was it running good before?

Are the diagnostic LED lights all green?

Here is what dell says:

If the power light is blinking amber  —

The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.

  • Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (if applicable).
  • Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board.
