What are 4 different fractions that are equal to 1 1/2

Hi Anonymous,
You can make equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing both top and bottom by the same amount, but only multiply or divide, never add or subtract, to get an equivalent fraction.
I've only shown the fraction part of your question as 1 is a whole number.
1/2 = 2/4, or 4/8, or 8/16 or 16/32 or 32/64 & so on.
Going the other way, dividing 2/4 by 2 will give 1/2.
But, only divide when the top and bottom would still be whole numbers, for instance you wouldn't use divide for odd number fractions, for example 1/3 or 3/5 etc.
Trust this helps, best regards Alan

Add and subtract fractions with like denominators

Just add or subtract the numerators.

For example, to subtract 1/7 from 3/7, simply subtract1 from 3 to get 2. The answer is then 2/7.

Remainder

The quotient is easy. Since the calculator drops any fractional portion when in base mode, simply do the division. For example, to get the quotient of 5 and 3, divide 5 by 3 and see 1.
The remainder is a bit harder. Subtract the product of the quotient and the divisor from the dividend. For example, to get the remainder of 5 and 3, first calculate the quotient as above. Then subtract 1*3 from 5 and see 2.

How to fraction. where is the fraction key

This calculator is incapable of displaying simplified fractions (i.e. 1 ½), you will have to use the decimal value or contain your complex fraction in parenthesis. (i.e. (5/2).)

My calculator will add, but after my total and then I want to subtract, it subtracts by the number I added.

If your calculator is more of an adding machine it works a little bit differently than a calculator. For an example: 10 + 5 - 2 on your machine do the addition of 10 + 5, then to subtract the 2 press 2 then the minus sign to get the total of 13. I hope this is helpful.

I cant figure out how to be able to take a fraction and subtract it to another fraction on my TI-84 PLUS calculator

Given two fractions a over b and c over d, you can subtract the first from the second by entering
( c / d ) - ( a / b ) ENTER

The calculator will give you a decimal result, which you can (probably) convert back to a fraction by using the >Frac command. Press MATH 1 ENTER

There is nothing to fix (It ain't broken). However if you do not like the display format, just press the [S<=>D] key and the result will magically be converted to decimals.

If you do not want any fractions nor radicals, JUST set the I/O mode to LineIO:
Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]

How do you subtract fraction on a caluclator. problem: 6/7-2/5

A fraction is just a number like (almost) any other. On most calculators, as you enter 6/5 the calculator displays its decimal value. When you press - the calculator waits for a number 2 then / then 5. Once you press the equal sign it will calculate 2/5 then subtracts it from the preceding result. The priority rules favor multiplication and division over addition and subtraction.

On some calculators you can keep a fraction in fraction format and operate on it with other fractions, and the result may be obtained as a fraction.
The gist of the story is that ON A CALCULATOR operations on fractions as performed like operations on any number.
