DISHWASHER WILL NOT TURN ON WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON. i CHECKED POWER TO THE UNIT AND IT'S GOOD.

It seems like defective control board and it is not cheap repair ,buying cheapest model new dishwasher could be good Idea

Try a fan or light where the washer is plugged in. Suspect a bad power plug connection if the test works. The next suspect is a faulty microswitch connected with the door latch mechanism. You will likely need a test meter to track this down. Good luck!

Just had the same problem, same model. Found the wiring below the front cover fried. So now I'm checking to see if anyone else had this happen.

You might try running the diagnostic mode which can be model dependent. To find your particular method to do this .... unscrew and remove the lower kick plate under the door. The service technician paperwork is usually taped to the kick panel or the tub or side wall. Within that paperwork should be the work process to run through the diagnostic mode. The work process is one of pushing various control buttons in a sequence within a quick time frame and repeating 2-3 times.
If that fails ... other potential reasons run the gambit of a bad control panel (or loose wire connection to the panel), bad heating element, etc

if the door switch has power and you cant get the dishwasher to do anything then you will need a new control.. ..

If you are still having the problems you describe and especially is you are getting a leak from the lower left door panel, please provide the model number and the serial number.

It sound like you have done a good job already, but just a couple thoughts before you go buy a new one. If the board does nothing then it could be locked, check your owners manual or whirlpool.com for the exact unlock instructions. Most units you hold the clear and pots and pans button down for 3 seconds together. If that dont work try to reset the board. To do this simply turn off the breaker that powers the dishwasher, wait about 5 minutes then turn it back on. This may reset the problem and start working. Next check the ribbon from the board to the display. If the ribbon is not plugged in properly it may not show anything on the board. Then you can always get a price on the control board. I do stock alot of different dishwasher controls and they are always cheaper than a replacing the dishwasher. Unit will not turn on..had this unit for 6 months..worked fine..all of a sudden wont turn on now..checked power and connections..all were good..im stumped..just wont turn on.

My Maytag MDB6650AWW dishwasher would not fill. The lights on the panel were on when I tried the wash cycle. I tested the water valve but no voltage was found during the cycle. I thought it may be the timer/control circuit. I traced the power from the door switch and found no power going to the float switch leg. I found two wires completely cut through (one going to the Water Valve) and three others partially sliced.
