Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

5 Answers

I've had a Pioneer SX-R9 stereo tuner amplifier, that came with a remix control mixer, twin cd players, an effects unit and a md recorder, for 10 years, but today the amp died on me. I try to switch it on, it switches itself off. I've taken the fan off the back and cleaned it, and used a mini hoover to clean inside the amp itself, to no avail. I love this system like a...dog or something. Can you tell me if its possible to get the amp repaired in London somewhere? Any help would be really appreciated! Andy

It sounds as though I have the same system as you which I bought in Japan in 1998. The amp is making a strange whurring noise so I figure it could be on its last legs.

Did you get yours fixed and what were the ballpark figures.

Thanks

Hi there,
The general fault come up with the AV recievers is:
My A|V receiver says, "OVERLOAD" and shuts off, what should I do?

Poor wiring connections, bad wires or a bad speaker may cause this. As you increase the volume, you will increase the amount of current you are drawing from the receiver. To troubleshoot this issue, try the following:

1. Disconnect each speaker wire connection. Inspect for any frayed or damaged wiring and replace it.
2. Check the impedance of the speakers; make sure they are properly rated for your stereo. In most cases, they need to be 8 ohms. Only a few Pioneer receivers will support lower impedance.
3. If the problem still continues, try these steps:
1. Turn the receiver off.
2. Remove one speaker.
3. Turn the receiver on.
4. Increase the volume.

If the receiver overloads, repeat steps 1-4 (selecting a different speaker each time). If you disconnect a certain speaker and the receiver no longer overloads, have this speaker checked at a service center. It could have a bad speaker component, like a tweeter, sub-woofer, or even a bad crossover.

Regards
Ellin

An amp is not a too difficult unit to repair, the engineer test the component on the amp board, following common diagrams. The job will cost you no less than fifty pounds, probably more.

DEAR SIR/MADAM WHEN I TRY TO RECORD MY VOICE VIA MICRO PHONE SINGING WHILE THE CD MUSIC TRACKS ARE PLAYING I COULD NOT RECORD THAT TO THE MINI DISC.PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW COULD I CONNECT IT DIGITALLY

It is much easier to use an analog mixer and microphone thru the mixer. I would plug the microphone into the mike input on the mixer and then the Karaoke machine to stereo LINE inputs on the the Mixer, then Mixer Output or Tape Output on the mixer to analog LINE IN on the MiniDisc recorder.
Let me know if you need more info.

What type of connection wires do I need to connect a sansui au 9900a intergrated amplifier, and the tu9900 stereo turner to a kenwood multi cd player and a JVC td- w 5th double cassette.

You need cable called RCA. What goes out of one unit goes in to another. Get the owner manual and read it. It will show you how to connect the wires to the components.

Connect the RCA jack to to tuner input in back. CD player to the aux in back.

How do I connect my CD Player, Tape Deck and Tuner to the SU 300 Technics Amplifier

hi,
For connecting these to your amplifier you need 4 Stereo RCA Cable.
1.Connection for cd:
Take one of the RCA cable connect the one end (red/white) jack to the line out of your cd and connect the other end (red/white) to the CD input of Your amplifier.
2. Connecting the tunner:
Take one of the RCA cable and connect the one end (red/white) jack to the line output of you Tuner and connect the other end (red/white) to the TUNER input of your amplifier.
3. Connectiong the tape deck:
Now you have two RCA cable. Take one of the RCA cable and connect the one end (red/white) jacks to the PLAY out of the Tape deck and connect the other end (red/white) to the TAPE 1 play input of your amplifier.
Now connect the last RCA cable. Connect the one end (red/white) jack to the record input of the TAPE deck And connect the other end (red/white) to the TAPE 1 Record input of your amplifier.(this connection will help you to record to tape from cd or tuner. if you are not interested in recording then you can avoid this connection.)

Now you can select these three items from the frond plannel control switch of the amplifier.
ok

Yes, but it depends on your laptop hardware and software. We'd need to know a lot more about that side.

I have just been given a Hitachi ax-m68 amplifier.. can it only be used with the other seperates it comes with such as the cd and tuner, or can i use it for decks and a mixer somehow? I dont have the cd...

to use it with either decks or a mixer check to see if it has record out and play in ("REC OUT"/"PLAY IN") for tape 1 or tape 2 if so you can use a mixer connected there. If no tape inputs or record out you could only use the CD ("tuner" is a internal selection not an input selection) as play back connections.
