You obviously didn't read the problem carefully. The machine won't boot, so there is no command line. I have the same problem with a T23. It might be the CMOS battery that needs to be replaced.

Post problem

If it beeps (which it should) means that some device did not pass post. Find your motherboard online and look up the beep codes. This should help you to discover the problem. I hope this helps!

This problem you may not be able to fix. There are a couple of things you can try.
1st Keep on rebooting your laptop until this error goes away.
2nd Replace the BIOS battery, it maybe nearly worn out. After replacement you need to go into the BIOS setting to set the Date & Time.

Ibm t22 thinkpad laptop error 0175 crc1

Ok hm...

Sounds expensive, I'm afraid!

Here is IBM'smag-glass_10x10.gif explanation of the error codes.

What your machine is telling you is that a chip on your Motherboard is faulty and the only way to repair it is a new system board.

It is probably worth finding out how much IBM would charge you to repair it but I very much doubt you'd get much change from £500.

There are a couple of possibilities, go to this link for the solutions, but it could be a bad power supply http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/31761/

ERROR CODE

It sounds like your computer can?t read the boot sector on your hard drive which it needs to start up. The most likely cause is mechanical wear which usually starts gradually and gets worse over time. The computer ?system? can generally overcome these read errors through a series of read retries at first but as the problem progresses it becomes more difficult. When this retrying becomes more common users typically notice their computer making a ?clicking? noise. Mechanical hard drives failures not uncommon on laptops where power settings have the hard drive shut off after 5 or 10 minutes of inactivity. This is done to increase battery run-time; unfortunately this puts a lot of stress on the hard drive. My default settings for all my laptops is to not allow spin down (shutdown) while on A/C power and when on battery only to spindown after 30 minutes of inactivity. I would go into your BIOS setup (F1) and verify your hard drive is still defined and as long as you?re there take a look to make sure the date and time are still set correctly. If everything looks OK quit out of the BIOS, shut down and restart your laptop, several times if necessary. If you are lucky and this is the beginning of the read error cycle then eventually you will be able to start your PC. If you are successful immediately backup your data, collect up your restore CDs and install a new hard drive. If you have any other questions let us know what additional info you have. As always please don?t forget to rate this post.
