Re: my tmobile dash keeps going back to the home screen
A few questions to get a better idea of what this might be:
1) Are there any applications that open successfully?
2) Which keys/buttons are you pressing to enter these apps?
3) Have you been experiencing any issues with the keyboard (incorrect key sequences or letters, etc.)?
Please respond to the above and we'll dive a little deeper into what's going on here.

While you are connected to a Wi-Fi, you can receive SMS text
and an application on your iPod Touch. There are many free and cheap SMS
applications in the App Store, it's just a matter of finding one with the
options you need. You can choose between text-based applications and video
messaging and voice to offer. You may need to voice a number of free Google for
some applications. Sign up for Google Voice on Google's website and it will
provide a free phone number to send SMS messages to your Touch.

1. Connecting to a Wi-Fi network

2. Go to the App Store on iPod Touch. It is the blue icon
"A" on the home screen.

3. Tap 'Find' menu below and type "text" or
"SMS". SMS applications are listed in both terms.

4. Read the descriptions and analysis of different applications
until you want.

5. Download the app for the iPod. Touch the price or the
"Free" to start the download. You can have your Apple ID password.

6. Tap the application icon on your home screen when
download is complete.

7. Open the Settings menu on the home screen and tap
"Messages". Make sure the message is set to "On." This
tells you when a message arrives

8. Configure the application in accordance with the
instructions of the provider, sending texts from your iPod Touch.
Ah! sounds like your home screen is set for 10 secs. try going to settings, than to home screen. than scroll down to "time out"... you can set how long you want your phone to stay in an app. you can even set it to never and it will only close a program if you end it yourself.
The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.
You can get the software for the T-mobile dash at the following link: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
Be warned that if you use this method most of the data on the phone will be lost, like text messages and etc. Your contacts should be fine as the are stored on the SIM Card and if you have been syncing your contacts with your PC then they should get loaded when you do the up
Mine does the samething. I'm running 6.1 and have found the problem to be the system fails to read the sd card on boot. When I reset my memory I don't put the sd card in until the system has booted back to the start screen. Works fine everytime.
i have a dash...i hate it, but i got that message a lot too, but i got a mini 2 GB storage card and i have all the space i need...it was like $25 bucks and if i just store all my pics and voice notes to the card, the phone never gave me that message again.even without erasing all of my texts. :-)
Utilize your task manager, your phone is a mini PC the more programs you have running in the background the more your battery will drain. Every time you open your text messages or surf the net or use a program like photo contacts it runs until you close it. Going back to your home screen does not close applications you have to use your task manager.
