Check the sensing bulb for any obstraction, make sure is directly over the flame, check the gas line for properly installed, check any safety switches it may have such as oil drain valve switch controlled by the oil drain valve. If it has an exhaust blower, it may have to get up to a certain speed before the flame will come on. This would be a vacuum type switch. If it has a pilot light that burns all the time, it probably has a thermocouple which the pilot light heeps hot. This could also be the problem and need replaced. Hope this may help you; Regards, VOTIT

Are there three separate t-stats with this unit and if so the one at is doing this is bad. I've replaced three of these this weak already

Yes you should be able to jump out the t-stat and that vat should fire up. The hi limit is so that the unit does not over heat.

Replaced the thermostats and high limit switches on both sides of a double vat unit. One thermostat blew immediately when the power was turned on. Blew like burned the guts out of it. This side is now dead...

Hi there, it seems that the wiring is messed up. For wiring diagram, you may visit www.wells-bloomfield search for your fryer model and you may be able to download it free.

I turn on the power and before I can set the temperature I get a flashing "err" message and can't do anything.

You are not alone. We have the same problem. Unit worked fine for 2-3 years. We still have the manual. This is not a user error- we know how to use it. The sensor switch is fine- it would not power on without that working ok.

The red power light comes on, and when we turn it ON it says "200" for about 2-3 seconds... then "Err". Nothing is possible after that, the unit has to be powered off.

We can push Temp Mode and start setting the temp higher but after 2 seconds it just goes to Err. It does not matter what buttons you push- you don't have to push anything at all and it says "Err". Reset button does nothing- this is not a heat temp overload issue. This unit worked at Thanksgiving, and then not at Christmas! We tried powering it on 10-20 times... nothing. Then the next day as we were about to put the turkey in the oven I tried the fryer again... and presto it worked fine!!! Now today it does not work again. Tried it 10 times, no go. Unit was stored in pantry (in house) so it is not a cold/warmup issue. I think it is something messed up in the electronics- a weak solder joint, a bad chip, who knows. It's like the unit fails a "power on self test". Unfortunately, I do not have a solution yet. Don't want to buy another Masterbuilt for sure... only use this 1-2 times a year. Will share if I find anything.

My signature classics deep fryer will not power on. I pressed the red button and nothing happened. Please assist.

first check fuse in the plug,,,if good, check that the plug is working and has power to it,,if all ok so far then you need to check the power on switch in the cooker and the thermal cut outs,, if the fryer has over heated the thermal cut out would have blowen or the heater has blowen

I have a tefal family pro fryer, when i switch it on the green light comes on instead of the red and it will not heat up. why?

Look for a reset button on the unit, Push it, you will hear a "click' then the unit will work. If not, there is an electrical problem, the element, or temp control is bad.

I need a new on/off rocker switch for my Tefal FR4016. Does anyone know where I can buy one please? I know how to fit it and what the cables are, I just need to locate a new switch. Thanks

Worst product I ever bought switch broke within 1 week, used twice and Teefal/Currys were about as helpful as an unhelpful thing.

Anyhow got a switch from from CPC www.cpc.co.uk PN: SW02922 Desc: Switch, rocker, spst, red, 250VAC £1.20 each.

Fitted works like a dream and seems a lot sturdier than the cheap one supplied with the unit.

Hope this helps others. Never buy another Teefal product!

Fryer wont fire up

Check the continuity, flip the switch on and off using an ohmmeter, if the switch is ok, check the thermal fuse inside.(you have to open the unit) replace whatever is defective

Tried draining oil and its plugged

Hello. It sounds like you have 2 vats, correct? OK, well down where you drain the oil, the valve is usually connected to the vat with a pipe. It sounds like something is inside the vat or the pipe, so take a piece of tubing, like a copper pipe, 3/8" od should be good, bend it at one end approx. 5 inches in, and you will probably need about 3 feet of it. You are going to make a poker from it, and go inside the fry vat, where the oil is, open your drain, with a catch pan, and then poke about where the drain opening is, inside the oil area. You have a blockage of some sort, a nugget, debris, something, cloth, scrubbie stuck in there. You need to try and push it through the drain pipe and valve.

Hope this helped, and thank you.

Oil will not heat up

I believe there is a reset switch within the vat. Make sure there is power to the outlet. Try to turn the T'stat wide open to get it to click. If you don't have one, the connection may not be good.Let me know how you do.

Leaking vat on model T-35 vulcan fryer 1995 model

You can change the tank, but it takes 2 hours or more and costs over $750 for the part. There are several other brands of equivilent fryers that you can buy new for about the same price.
