I think it is likely the contacts are corroded. Check and see if there is any residue on the battery contacts and on the phone too. Scraping them with a fine grit sandpaper should do the trick. If that is not the issue look for your battery off of ebay since it will be significantly discounted. Hopes this helps.

Before you conclude that its the charging port i think you need to test another compartible charger and see if it works or you could open your phone with a phone screwdriver and dust the charging port and try it if it works. If it doesn't work then you would need to replace the charging port.Temporarily you can use a desktop charger to charge your batterywhile the port is being replace.
charging your battery is simple if you are ready to use cheap non LG chargers made in china. go to an electronics shop nearby with your battery alone and ask for an external charger (name is universal) which is a box type charger with three pins which will connected to your battery for charging. the head ache in this charger is you have to take out the battery from your phone every time for charging. but i am not sure about the availability since i dont know your location...but if you want to get it repaired under standard conditions, go to an LG care shop and they will take care of your problem...
Um The Voyager Is Not A vx9900 It Is Called A vx10000 The vx9900 Is The Lg EnV. But As Far As I Know You Cannot Retrieve Txt Messages With Almost All Verizon Phones, But Im Sure You Can Get A Record Of Txts From A Certain Date If You Ask Verizon, They Might Hit You WIth Some Crazy Charge Tho.
iT'S little cheesy but hey for $10 and free shipping I can eat a lot of cheese.
Just plug your battery into this little clugy thing, plug the thing into the wall, wait until battery is charged and then put your battery back into your phone...presto...for this kind of money who cares if the VX9900 has a dead battery charge port.
I bought two, they were on sale for $7 each. It's ugly and takes a bit of patience but it works.
Its because there massaging probably has some feature on it not supported by the verizon software. Theres most likely nothing you can do, your phone isnt broken, vtext just has some feature or format not supported by you cell phone.
