This is a corrupted file issue.

There is a step by step solution here:

You will need your windows vista dvd.

My windows has a update and it wont expect it it keeps saying error 80070002 and the update i need to do is KB936330 which is window vista service pk. and i have tried in the microsoft and it wont let me....

You could try to download the "Service Pack for IT Professionals" - as this is the full package, and doesn't require Windows Update. You need to install SP1 before SP2.

SP1: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=30
SP2: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=16468

Is your Vista a 32 bit or 64 Bit O/S

open this link and run the Windows readiness tool, This will help the PC unblock any failed updates for Windows and help you install the new updates.

Windows installer for Vista is Installer version 4.5, so the updates should fix the issue.

Keep getting this error message ...an i know my copy is the real thing took it out of th ebox last night. error code 0xc004e003

Dear sir
If you want my advice; just reinstall windows.
This error hard to handle since it is in the core of Vista and now you cant access control panel or updae to fix it.

So reinstall, register; and try to keep your system up to date with windows update.

Cannot get Vista update to download. Also I cannot get my Vista to transfer my photos to another folder.

Sounds like you already have the most recent version of Windows. If you recently installed the new Windows then you have to have the most critical updates installed before you can download any other updates. Mine was SP Pack 3. Go to windows Update in your start button and let Windows do a thorough search for your updates. Most of the time Windows has to be Verified as the first download which it installs, then after that find something else to do, because your Updates will keep coming all day. Good Luck.

I had installed Home Vista before Ike and now the systems keeps telling me I have to upgrade my windows 2002? My case number was 1078167319

Hi,

Prior to the windows vista installation, did you reformat your hard drive and clean out everything? I am not sure why you have that message, asking you to upgrade your windows 2002 if your system has windows vista already,

I suggest, if you keep on having this message. Try reformatting and reinstalling your vista again. But before you do it, make it sure that you passed all the system requirements since windows vista has higher specification than your old operating system.

Keep me posted.

Thanks

Actually first try to update the machine in windows update , there might be a fix for this error, in the control panel on vista look for windows update,, you can also have a look at Problem Reports and errors to see if it has a solution, If you have vista with SP1 and there isnt any updates or no problem solution then try a system restore,
Click start and type restore in the search box, scroll down to find restore.

If that fails try reinstalling it

Windows vista activation

Yes, and you're definitely acting too thick to be trusted with a computer. For example, if you'd recorded error messages with more exactness, and attribution of errors to a particular context (say, a Windows Vista bluescreen or a particularly titled message-box;) then I might be assured that you could suffer people well to help you accomplish ambitions and fly through the checkpoints and tribulations. This is not yet the case.

Give some context as to what was working and when it stopped, what reproducible signs of malfunction and diagnostics arise, and in the case of Vista activation on spare HDs, RTFMYGDSOBOMGROFLMAO. Vista's acting normal. Try installing another OS for the practice and diversity. Most glaringly, you need to form complete sentences, with clear attribution of what says what when it says it.
