Ok,if you can access the hard drive of your old computer, try to search for inbox.dbx ,outbox.dbx and so on,include hidden files when searching..outlook express uses .dbx extension to compress its messages, once you have it,you can export it to outlook express of different computer,i dont think it can be read by windos mail caus it might be using a different file extension, try downloading mozilla thunderbird,it reads dbx files..

You're using the wrong password. Maybe you are trying to log in using your email password. That's probably a different one than the one to log on to your computer.

I have 12gb remaining on a hard drive of 250gb. Windows XP will not load

A fix I have used often is in a program called " (Barts) Ultimate Boot DC for Windows"
First you need to download the file from here (http://www.ubcd4win.org/) and then you need a copy of your Windows installation to build an iso to burn to CD or you can put it on a bootable flash drive if you know how.
I didn't use my original Windows disk when I built mine. I have also run it on several other computers successfully, I think you should be able to do that too.
If you want I can mail you a copy of mine if you send me a postage payed self addressed return envelope, so I don't have to catch the post office open to mail it.
From there you can go into restore boot options or even run a repair program. My email address that I prefer you use to contact me for an address to send the envelope is mad_datta@hotmail.com. Don't use my email address associated with Fixya because that email gets so much trash sent to it that I might never see your mail.

95 e mails deleted in erroe is there any chance of recover

Depends if the emails were deleted from a web based email like hotmail or yahoo. If they were, the emails usually get moved to the trash folder after being deleted from the inbox. If they are deleted from the trash folder, than it is not possible to recover them. But if you have replied to any of the emails then you might have the message thread in your sent box for that particular email.
I use Outlook 2007 on vista OS so it may be a bit different to XP Mail or Outlook. The data for outlook (calendar, contacts, emails) is stored in a .pst file by default stored on your C Drive. So your deleted emails may or may not still be in this file. You can import the file to your outlook program to retrieve any old / archived emails that are stored in this file.

To find where your .pst file is stored on your computer, google a term like 'where is outlook .pst file on a windows xp os' or 'how do i find a .pst file on a windows xp computer'

The .pst files can be imported in outlook by going to 'File > Import and Export > Import from another file or program > Select the Personal Folder File .pst file.
This is how you get your emails back after they have been archived, or after your computer has been formatted, so if theres any chance of getting them back after being deleted when using outlook this method would be it. Hope it helps

My husband's computer works off mine. He no

Hi! He most likely picked up a virus somehow. By the "simptoms", i think that the virus deleted some important files that are very important fot the computer. The best and the safest solution is to reinstall Windows.

For that you need to import it in 1 file.
Open outlook express then go to file menu then import ->address book.
Then save it to desktop then you can export in microsoft outlook with that file.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.
