Question about Logitech X-530 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

No sound from X-530 speakers

I bought my Logitech X-530 speaker system two years ago in Jan. 2006. They have worked fine up until about 2 months ago. The problem I first noticed was that I was having difficulty pushing in my headphones jack plug. Sometimes I got sound through the headphones sometimes I did not. I thought it was my headphones to blame, so I unplugged them and stopped using them, sound was still ok from all the speakers. Then over the last few weeks, I suddenly got no sound at all from any of them. The green light is ON on the RH front desk speaker with the power cord leading from it to the PC, and there is a "snuffling" sound when I adjust the volume button on that speaker, I can hear some faint sound at very low volume, but this stops when I turn the volume up. I'm convinced it's the front speaker at fault (possibly the jack plug socket), the one with the on/off and volume controls on it. Everything is plugged in correctly and I have not changed anything.
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jen

    Hi neely07728,

    Thanks for you help.

I had a feeling someone was going to say "new speakers". Normal sound has now resumed to all 5 speakers except for the headphones, which, because of the broken speaker jack still do not work.

I'm going to try and see if I can buy JUST the front volume controle speaker from LOGITECH. Do you think this is likely?

AFTER 3 MONTHS SPEAKERS COSTING OVER $200 ONE SPEAKER DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE

Logitech equipments are usually pretty good. It should be under warranty so I would not try to fix it yourself.
If you bought your product new from an authorised dealer, your expensive speakers would still be under the normal Logitech 2 yeas sound systems warranty: consult your warranty terms an contact both your dealer and Logitech support.
Hope it helps. let me know how you go.

I just bought new speakers (logitech x-530) which is 5.1. sound only comes out of the front 2 speakers and the sub but not the back 2 and the centre. any ideas? computer specs are: motherboard - asus...

Sorry just doublechecked your board specs. Go to the sound properties in control panel. Click on the configure speakers option. If everything is plugged in right then windows should configure it for you to a 5.1 config. Hope this helps.

Loss of sound to Logitech Z560

I repaired Z-560 speakers with a defective left front channel by chopping off one of the input leads close to the 3.5 mm stereo jack that goes into the PC and joining on the leads from a new one. At first I thought the fault lay in the main amplifiers in the sub woofer unit but I was wrong and it turned out to be far simpler to fix than I anticipated.
