You have to take the base cover off to find out what broke, there are some screws on the bottom remove those to take the bottom plate off then, then up inside there are more screws to on the top remove the emblem and take that screw out ,that should expose the whole inside of the base.look towards the back where the peddle is and see if there is any pieces laying loose,if there are then you will have to buy the pedal assembl.feel free to call me if you need me to walk you through it.314-628-9153

Remove handle from hose electrolux

You don't have to "remove" the handle from the hose to attach other attachments, just depress the tab at the end of the hose and pull the upper wand loose then use the "adapter" to use the dusting brush or simply snap the crevice tool in place to use. If the handle won't come loose from the upper wand, then the described "tab" needs replaced as it's locking up the parts. Hope that helps!

Can't lower handle on Hoover wind tunnel vac U6432-900

Anne, Do you mean that when you depress the pedal on the left side of the machine body that you can't get the upper portion to release into a lower mode? Or are you fully depressing the pedal?? As for the switch for the self propelled mode, that's actually just a small button that you move around in the slot of the handle to select which mode you want to use. It's not actually a switch. If you are fully depressing the handle release pedal and it's not releasing, you should take it to the store where you purchased it, if it was a vacuum store. If you bought it at a big box store, then you'll need to take it to some repair shop that does warranty work, if it's within the warranty period of course.

I have the Ninja Kitchen System 1100 and the only way I've found to lower the handle on the lid is to simultaneously depress the two white "tabs" at the base of the handle. This is awkward at bes

Make sure you have the arrow on the handle in alignment with the arrow on the lid. Press down securely before closing the handle.

How do you replace Hoover Handle Release Pedal on

The handle pedal is snapped in to the base, where it pivots.
The pedal needs to be pried away fron the base, exposing the pivot pin to release it for removal. On your model, you will likelly have to remove the lower handle from the base (where it pivots) to get room to release and replace the pedal.

Hoover savvy upright, replaced belt, but brushes will not turn

One of the common problems with the Savvy models is the upper handle switch. However if it is newer, you may also have an issue with the lower cable. To test it, turn on switch in carpet mode, and at the bottom rear, wiggle thr exposed black cable. if the roller starts and stops then it is bad and needs replacement. the cost of the part is about $10 but labor intensive to replace.

Received hoover powermax fusion vac today and the handle will not go down as indicated in diagram.

What is your model number? A Savvy and Powermax are differntent models. The Savvy the handle slides on and there are 4 screws to hold it in place. The Powermax has 2 screws to hold it in place. have you removed them before trying to put the handle on. If you have, you just have to work so it will slide down then put in the screws to secure it.

Hoover Savvy on-off switch does not work (very intermittant)

Hi All-

I found the solution to this issue. You need to take the switch apart. Having a set of small jewelers screwdrivers from radio shack helps a lot.

First, take the switch enclosure off to expose the mechanics of the switch. There are 3 clips on either side that need to be worked free.

There are 4 springs inside the switch that push down 2 metal contacts (one other spring is used to hold the switch in position). If you expand all 4 springs (stretch them out about double there normal size) the increased pressure helps the switch make more solid contact and prevents arching which is what ruins the switch in the first place. After you stretch the 4 springs be sure to clean up the contacts on the switch chassis with a wire brush.

On the slider part of the switch there are 2 contacts which also need to be cleaned up. If you have a dremil tool use it to file a point on opposite the ends of the messed up contact. Be sure there are no burs after making the points . If there are burs the contacts will hang up and springs can't do there job. This is because there are slots the contacts need to float in on the plastic slide.

With the 4 springs stretched out it will be very difficult to put the switch back together. However, with some patients, mini needle nose pliers and jewelers screwdriver set you can be successful.

You may want take the switch circuit board off the vac before putting the switch back together (to do this remove the handle). The switch is much easier to put back together removed from the vac and on a clean well lit table. Assemble the switch in a place where you can find small parts on the floor if the contacts or springs shoot out during reassembly

This hoover savvy runs like a champ now, no more arching in the switch to destroy the contacts.

I would only attempt this if you are mechanically inclined… worst case scenario however is you break the switch and need to order the replacement though… oh yea make sure the thing is unplugged when you do the above procedure.
