Nokia N86 crazy screen colours.

I have a nokia N86, i soley want to use it as my point and shoot camera. My problem is the screen is all sorts of crazy multi colors. camera still works fine its just i can't reall y see what i am taking pictures of until i upload it. Is there an update that could fix this as i don't think its a harware issue. Thanks

Release in early 2009, I like the camera and the inbuilt memory of this phone. Firmware updates are always available and you certainly can try a software update. Nokia stopped N-gage for this phone now. If you really think its not a hardware (display) problem, and the update is not helpful, you can try to reset the phone to factory setting. The code is *#7780# for soft reset and *#7370# for hard reset. During reset it will ask for password, the default password is 12345.

N86 camera issue

Here are the steps.

go to the camera application while the main camera lens is closed. (front camera will automatically be used)

Once camera application is up,open the camera lens. (application will switch to main camera)

go to video mode (you cant access image mode settings at it will crash the application)

go to the settings of the video mode and choose to reset the camera settings.
That should fix it

LCD monitor does not light up, and consequently, does not display any image (as some other digital cameras do) during the aiming and focusing processes - sort of prescanning the image - before the shutter...

to my knowledge digital slrs aren't supposed to show you the image on the screen before you shoot because the battery would get used up too quickly this is what the viewfinder is for and the lcd is purely there to tell you info on what the settings are and to view your pics after shooting, I have the 400d and its the same for that.Hope this helps
