Hi

Yes, there is a 'macro mode' setting which is what you need to use to take closeup photos.

Put the mode dial on Auto in camera mode, and then press the 'macro' button, its the one with the little flower icon. The macro icon appears on your screen and you can now take closeup photos.

Have fun, darntoothysam com

Why does my Coolpix S220 pause before snaping a picture?

Most compact digital cameras exhibit some degree of "shutter lag." When you press the shutter release button, the camera must acquire focus, meter the light to set the proper exposure, and switch the sensor from viewing to recording before it can take the picture. One of the things you get when you pay for a more sophisticated camera is a reduction in this lag.

One way to reduce this lag is to anticipate the action. Press the shutter release button halfway to let the camera focus and meter, then wait for the right moment to press the button the rest of the way.

Hi. I have a Fujifilm A235 12.2 MP which I bought around 1 year ago. Once I tried to switch it off and it told me "Focus error". From that day on the lens would not move in and out as usual and I...

Hello

Unfortunately a "focus error" message is not something that you will be able to fix. This error indicates a system failure and requires the camera to be sent in for servicing and repair.

You may find it more cost effective to purchase a new camera as opposed to the repair price on your current camera.

OHH - I can met this problem before , the camera is trying to auto focus and in the time it does the focus the action has passed.
Take a light & speed setting - then switch to manual mode OR manual focus , this will eliminate the AUTO focus looking for best light reading distance etc.
Some cameras also have a "fast" setting which is usually a 'running man' icon - click this button and the picture will drop back to 5mpixels but it will take a quick shot instead of saving then scanning at a slower speed.

My fuji fine pix z1's flash doesnt work. i dont even remember it worked ever. the pics are blurred most of the time

1) Check you're settings are all on "Auto".
2) The button you press to take the photo is a 2 stage button. Press half way, if you're gentle you should feel a slight resistance. Pause at this stage, just for a moment to allow your camera to focus properly. Then proceed with the action until photo is taken.
3) It takes a little practice to get used to it, but with any luck you photo's should be crisp.

4) If this doesn't work and you bought it less than a year ago, take it back to the shop and comlain.

I am Andrea I'm from Argentina I bought the camera 1 years ago The recargable baterys very very quality but only use 2 o 3 hours Is this all right? Or I programed something wrong Sorry for my poor English...

Sometimes batteries can get ruined by NOT being used & recharged. I would suggest you get a new battery & ensure you charge it regardless at least once a week or fortnight, if it's not used very much & as required if it is used lots.

Try getting new trusted brand batteries like duracell, And also if it forces you to change the D/T just change it. Also try getting a new memory card. (trusted brand). If none of this works then there might be a prob. Maybe someone dropped it. Try asking the company 2.

Hope this helps

Perhaps you have accidentally set the auto-manual focus to manual on the camera body?

Per.

PS. The r10 message is just a report of the current memory buffer status, not an error indication.

it is probably a camera shake problem. Consider using a tripod. Also, using higher ISO helps..Using flash helps too.

Auto Focus Problem

Way to check settings is to take the batteries out for a while, it should revert to factory default settings. I tell a lot of People to try this, it works an amazing number of times. Auto focus looks for vertical lines, what are You shooting at? Try rotating the camera 90 degrees, if it locks better,Bingo. Subjects without much contrast are hard to lock focus on
